Dipl.-Ing. Markus Richardt

Markus Richardt holds a degree in electrical engineering and is a patent attorney and professional representative before the European Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and European Patent Litigator (UPC). He is the founder of the law firm Richardt Patentanwälte (patent attorneys).

Markus Richardt studied electrical engineering with an emphasis on communications engineering at the RWTH Aachen (Germany) and the research department of the École supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles de la ville de Paris (ESPCI) in the team of Georges Charpak (1992 Nobel Prize in Physics). He wrote his diploma thesis on an interdisciplinary research topic of medical imaging. After working in the patent department of IBM Germany, Markus Richardt was responsible for setting up and managing the patent division for Motorola's EMEA division. Besides staying abroad in Paris and London, he spent a considerable time in the US, where he passed the examination (Patent Bar Exam) for becoming a US Patent Agent.

Mr. Richardt was teaching at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany) for many years. He is chairman of the association of patent attorneys Rhein-Main and is a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Intellectual Property at the University of Mannheim.
