Dipl. Eng. Georgios Georgellis

Georgios is an engineer, a patent attorney, and a legal representative for the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. 

Georgios obtained a diploma in chemical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Athens, Greece with emphasis in polymers and organic chemistry. His thesis was in polymeric membranes. 

Georgios has more than 20 years of experience in patent matters including working in-house for a Fortune 500 company in the US as patent counsel. He is an expert in patent drafting and prosecution, validity opinions, freedom to operate studies, IP due diligence, and he often represents clients in appeals and oppositions before the EPO.  

His current practice focuses in technologies relating to all types of chemistry and processes such as polymers, renewable energy, battery technology, biotechnology, molecular biology, pharmaceuticals, and the like.

Dipl. Ing. Georgios Georgellis is neither a partner nor an employee of the Richardt Patentanwälte. If required, he supports clients as external counsel (Of Counsel) of the Richardt Patentanwälte.
